MDF Discs

Had one of my more unusual jobs to do this weekend. Someone had ordered eight 45cm diameter discs out of MDF for a project they were doing.

To make them all the same size I made a jig and cut them with the router.
Jig made for the router to cut circles the same size
Completed stack of discs.
Each one was then chamfered to remove the sharp edge before being delivered.
An unusal job but as you can see I'll do any that come my way!

    1. With the time I can give to jobs now the small ones are much better for me really as I can fit them in.

  2. I'm fascinated to know what they were going to do with them. I had to do exactly the same thing myself recently, although not quite as professional as yours, I was making a 'lazy Susan' turntable out of them for our curry nights. Two discs of mdf, a couple of lengths of old electric cable (for the marble channel as I don't have a router) and a couple of packets of marbles did the job. Not the best looking thing, but it works!

    1. Thanks for your comment Ashley, really nice to read. Where in the word do you do your carpentry? I love reading how others do jobs as well.
My girl is no better but no worse, she's happy in herself so it's not too bad, she just limps a bit!
